PUBLIC NOTICE - PENALTY HEARING

The Lower Republican Natural Resources District (LRNRD) Board of Directors will be holding a separate hearing to consider Violations and Penalties for Tampering with Well Flow Meters and Operating a Well Without a Properly Installed and Operational Flow Meter against SBS Farms, Inc., also know as SBS Ranch, Inc., Robert Bishop, Tamara Bishop, and Julie Smith. The alleged violations occurred on the following described lands in July of 2016:

1. The East Half of the Southwest Quarter (E/2SW/4) and the Southeast Quarter (SE/4) of Section Twenty-Six (26), Township Two (2) South, Range Twenty-One (21) West of Sixth (6th) P.M., containing 72.3 acres certified for groundwater irrigation by the LRNRD on 10/6/2004.
2. The Northeast Quarter (NE/4) of Section Thirty-Five (35), Township Two (2) South, Range Twenty-One (21) West of the Sixth (6th) P.M., containing 119.3 acres certified for groundwater irrigation by the LRNRD on 10/6/2004.
3. The West Half (W/2) of Section Thirty-Five (35), Township Two (2) South, Range Twenty-One (21) West of the Sixth (6th) P.M., containing 219.1 acres certified for gourndwater irrigation by the LRNRD on 10/6/2004.

All members of the public are hereby notified that the public hearing shall be conducted at the offices of the LRNRD at 30 N. John St., Alma, Nebraska 68920, on January 8, 2026. The hearing shall begin at 1:00 PM CST. Members of the public who wish to attend the hearing who require auxiliary aids to attend, should contact the LRNRD at (308) 928-2182 to schedule the necessary accommodations.

PUBLIC NOTICE MEETING OF THE LOWER REPUBLICAN NATURAL RESOURCES DISTRICT

The Lower Republican NRD Board of Directors hereby provides public notice that the regular monthly public meeting of the Lower Republican NRD will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, immediately following the penalty hearing in the Lower Republican NRD Meeting Room, 30 North John Street, Alma, NE.

An agenda of the meeting is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the LRNRD office, on the front door of the NRCS offices, and at the following website: www.lrnrd.org.
