Republican River Compact

On December 30, 2022, the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources (NeDNR) issued an Order that a Compact Call Year will be in effect for 2023.According to our Integrated Management Plan (IMP), we will need to take management actions to stay in compliance with the compact. One particular action that is automatically triggered is a 13” Hard Cap for ground water pumping this year. Also, if water conditions in the basin do not improve through the spring and summer, it is a likelihood that we will need to augment streamflow (e.g., NCORPE) or produce other compliance actions.
