Completed in October of 2005, the Lower Republican NRD’s Rural Water Project supplies approximately 91 homes and the Village of Guide Rock with quality drinking water. Owned and operated by the LRNRD, the Rural Water Project transports water from the City of Franklin and services both the Village of Guide Rock and a total of 186 rural operations, including domestic and livestock wells. This water is purchased from the City of Franklin at a price of $2.05 per 1,000 gallons. The Rural Water Project water storage facility is a 100,000 gallon tank located four miles south of Franklin.
